When the City of Oshawa celebrated the 100th Birthday Robert Samuel McLaughlin in 1971,
the celebrations included a parade of over fifty McLaughlin and Buick automobiles. This had been arranged by members of the Antique
and Classic Car Club of Canada and the Canadian Automotive Museum.
Bringing these people together for the event led to
the formation of the McLaughlin Buick Club of Canada and the club celebrates that occasion with
Homecoming events. In 2008, at Colonel Sam's Parkwood Estate in Oshawa, over 120 McLaughlin and Buick automobiles recognised
the 100th anniversary of McLaughlin-Buick in Canada.
The club publishes a quarterly magazine, the Accelerator.
Members can choose to receive their copy by mail or for a substantially lower membership fee, electronically by e-mail.
It features interesting articles about members'cars and the historical aspects of McLaughlin and Buick. All issues contain
membership updates and a classified section with free ads. for members, and members have
access to the Club Library.
